Preview text and image changes — right in your browser
Rewrite supported text or replace an image from a file, the clipboard or a URL. Preview changes in the current tab, undo individual edits, or reload to clear them. Image URLs and page scripts can still send requests.
The Chrome Web Store link is not available here yet. Installation details are pending.
Designed for Chromium browsers. Protected pages and some embedded frames are unavailable; site scripts may overwrite previews.
What you can do
Preview changes in the live document without publishing site source. Page scripts can observe edits, including form input.
Rewrite text
Try headings, paragraphs, list items, links and button labels. Enter saves, Shift+Enter adds a line, and arrow keys at the text edge move between supported targets.
Replace images
Supported targets include regular images, <picture> sources and CSS backgrounds. Swap in a file, a pasted screenshot or a URL. The editor attempts to preserve the original layout box; site styles can interfere.
Undo and reset
Ctrl+Z steps back one change at a time. Reload clears in-tab edits, but cannot undo information the website has already saved or sent.
Local by design
No accounts or extension telemetry; the developer does not collect your edits. Image URLs contact their hosts, and page scripts may observe or transmit changes.
How it works
Make a preview on a supported page without publishing its source.
Activate. Click the extension icon or press Alt+Shift+E. Supported targets highlight on hover. A first right-click action may ask you to select the target after activation.
Edit. Click text and type a replacement. Click an image and pick a file, paste from the clipboard, or apply a URL — or drag an image file onto it. The top-page controls count changes across accessible frames; Undo steps back in chronological order.
Finish. Done saves pending text and stops editing across reachable frames. Esc closes an open panel first or finishes editing. Each session finished with changes shows a non-promotional summary. Previews remain in the live document until cleared or overwritten by the site.
The welcome tab opens only on installation, not on updates or first activation. Protected pages show a dedicated explanation; inaccessible embedded frames are not promised editable. Screenshot capture is not built in: use your browser or a separate tool. One small optional link in Help opens our separate screenshot extension's store listing; there are no toolbar, context-menu or reminder promotions.

Privacy
ContentChanger applies edits in the tab without extension telemetry or developer collection of your edits. It is not an offline or private workspace.
- Image URLs cause browser requests to their hosts
- Page scripts can observe DOM and form edits, including pasted content, and may transmit them
- Edits and undo metadata stay in the live document and in-memory session state; the extension persists no flags or edit history
- No remote code — everything ships inside the extension package
- Nothing runs on a page until you activate the extension
